That it has taken more than a decade to guide this process through regulatory, political, and electoral challenges only underscores how crucial it is for our states and provinces to continue to commit to fulfilling win-win energy solutions like this one for both Canadians and Americans. Massachusetts and all of New England will enjoy cost savings and emissions reductions from the nearly 10 million megawatt-hours of hydropower NECEC will deliver every year, and Québec enjoys the added energy security of an even more robust power grid interconnection with New England when imported power is needed.</p><p id="ember1078" class="ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin-bottom: 32px; padding: 0px; border-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); border-style: none; border-width: 0px; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); line-height: 1.5; pointer-events: all;">We express our heartfelt congratulations to the NECEC partnership on this landmark accomplishment:<span class="white-space-pre" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); border-style: none; border-width: 0px; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); outline: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9) none 0px; white-space: pre !important;"> </span><a class="OWKrVCDEszGuKVOTeyuBrAPnCnwhrFwr " tabindex="0" href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/avangrid/" style="border:0px none #0a66c2;box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); text-decoration-line: initial; text-decoration-color: #0a66c2; font-weight: 600; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; color: #0a66c2; touch-action: manipulation; overflow-wrap: break-word;">Avangrid</a><span class="white-space-pre" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); border-style: none; border-width: 0px; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); outline: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9) none 0px; white-space: pre !important;"> </span>and its subsidiary<span class="white-space-pre" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); border-style: none; border-width: 0px; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); outline: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9) none 0px; white-space: pre !important;"> </span><a class="OWKrVCDEszGuKVOTeyuBrAPnCnwhrFwr " tabindex="0" href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/central-maine-power-company/" style="border:0px none #0a66c2;box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); text-decoration-line: initial; text-decoration-color: #0a66c2; font-weight: 600; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; color: #0a66c2; touch-action: manipulation; overflow-wrap: break-word;">Central Maine Power Company</a><span class="white-space-pre" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); border-style: none; border-width: 0px; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); outline: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9) none 0px; white-space: pre !important;"> </span>and<span class="white-space-pre" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9); border-style: none; border-width: 0px; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); outline: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9) none 0px; white-space: pre !important;"> </span><a class="OWKrVCDEszGuKVOTeyuBrAPnCnwhrFwr " tabindex="0" href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/hydro-quebec/" style="border:0px none #0a66c2;box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: none 0% 0% / auto repeat scroll padding-box border-box rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); text-decoration-line: initial; text-decoration-color: #0a66c2; font-weight: 600; border-image: none 100% / 1 / 0 stretch; color: #0a66c2; touch-action: manipulation; overflow-wrap: break-word;">Hydro Québec</a>.
