On June 17, Bridgewater State University held a ceremony to recognize the first student recipient of the  NECBC Frederick J. Nemergut Scholarship Fund (the “Fund”). The Fund was established in 2018 within the Bridgewater State University Foundation to recognize and memorialize the contributions of Fred Nemergut to the New England-Canada Business Council (NECBC) and the region; and to support education and students in the region interested in international economics, Canadian studies and political science. The student who was honored is Sean Hannah, who will enter his senior year at Bridgewater this fall. Sean is majoring in economics and is looking forward to a career in marketing.

The university stated that the NECBC has “raised over $62,000 to help students like Sean as they prepare to earn their degree, find their place in the world, and go on to infuse future generations with the knowledge, experiences and enthusiasm they have gained at Bridgewater.”

Shown here are (l to r) Joy Nemergut; Sean Hannah, and Fred Clark, President of the University.
